One Pot Chili Macaroni

One pot chili macaroni is an easy meal to make on board using one burner. The second burner could be used to make garlic bread*. Add a salad and you have an easy, quick meal for your crew.

One Pot Chili Macaroni

You will need:

1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (14-1/4 ounces) tomatoes, cut up
2 cups water
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
8 ounces uncooked elbow macaroni

How to Make:

Brown ground beef or turkey, onion and garlic and drain** as usual and return to pot. Add tomatoes, water, tomato sauce and seasonings to pan and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes. Add uncooked macaroni and return to boiling. Cook approximately 8 or 9 minutes (or until macaroni is tender) stirring frequently.

* Spread cut side of buns with garlic butter. Place butter side down in fry pan. Watch carefully until lightly toasted.

**An empty tin can is handy to have on board for holding excess fat drained from meat.
